WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Rising Brains Academy offers a variety of tutoring services to students in all subjects and grade-levels including private tutoring, group tutoring, test prep, and individual online classes and workshops!
We connect students with experienced and capable tutors to provide support in any and all of their academic needs. We believe that every student has the potential to excel in any academic or extracurricular subject!
OUR STORY
In 2019, Rising Brains Academy was founded by our lead tutor, Adriana Torres. Growing up, Adriana experienced academic hardships of her own. Because of this, she understands the frustrations and lack of confidence that some students experience due to their unique learning styles.
Over time, her interest in working with children grew and lead her to teach children in her free time, both in her local community as well as internationally through online tutoring. Adriana has always enjoyed working with children and supporting them to develop their academic and social skills. It is a passion of hers because she loves to see students strengthen their confidence while at the same time enjoying the learning process. With all of this in consideration, she decided her next steps were to create a way for her to help more young minds flourish in academics. She created Rising Brains Academy, a place where students can thrive with the help of experienced and caring tutors.
For students with similar experiences as Adriana, Rising Brains Academy dedicates itself to offering support by teaching in a way that considers each student's unique learning style, and encourages a natural curiosity in the academics that will surely lead to a path of success.

ADRIANA TORRES

Adriana has a true passion for teaching and working with children. She is working toward a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and has plans to pursue a degree in Speech Pathology. She has 3 years of tutoring experience and over 8 years of experience working with children of all ages, including those with physical and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Not only does she provide her tutoring services to children locally, but she also spends her time teaching English remotely to international students. She is highly devoted to tutoring elementary and middle school students in all academic subjects. She is incredibly passionate about teaching and always makes it her mission that all her students learn something new in every class.
Her goals are to guide, build confidence, ensure understanding, and ignite a passion for learning in all of her students!
JUAN URAN
Tutor
B.A. in Psychology
Certified Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT)
Juan has worked with Rising Brains Academy since 2019 as a tutor for school level mathematics. He is also an administrative assistant, serving as a primary point of contact for parents and students. Juan graduated from Florida International University with a B.A. in Psychology in 2015. Since 2016, he has worked in the field of behavior analysis, providing therapy services to children across the autism spectrum.
LAURA TORO
Tutor
Prospective B.A.S. in Supervision and Management
Laura Toro is currently enrolled in Miami Dade College in the Bachelors of Applied Science in Supervision and Management. She also works for a private immigration office and is a part-time tutor. She has always tutored in college and many of her friends would tell her that she was great at explaining and teaching topics, especially math. She then started working with kids and grew a passion for it. Laura loves being part of children's lives and helping them grow to be amazing human beings in our community.
AMANDA GOMEZ

Prospective B.A. in Secondary Education
Amanda has a great passion for teaching ever since she first began high school. She is studying as a Secondary Education major in MDC and volunteers at the Miami Children’s Theatre where she has helped teach children the confidence to perform in plays. She has also been elected into local, district, and state officer positions for the largest student business organization in the country, “Future Business Leaders of America.” Amanda has had extensive experience working with children and shaping the youth to become leaders and that is a dream she wishes to pursue for the rest of her life.
ANGELINA BUENAVENTURA
Tutor
Prospective B.A. in Journalism Mass Communications
Angelina is a natural creative with a deep passion for art and writing. She has always loved language arts and literature and is passionate about helping her students strengthen their skills within those areas. Graduating in the top 10 percent of her high school class she is now in college majoring in Journalism Mass Communications. She hopes to eventually go into the film and TV production business and leave her mark on the industry. Angelina is also a huge animal lover, loves to cook, and dabbles with video editing!
LAURA RAMIREZ
Administrative Assistant
B.A. in Psychology
Laura has worked with Rising Brains Academy since its foundation in 2019. She has a B.A in Psychology and a Minor in Statistics from Florida International University and is working toward attaining a graduate degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Although she is not a tutor herself, she works closely with the rest of the RBA family, providing administrative support and running social media accounts.
